This website is hosted by IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany. The hosting provider processes data on my behalf under a data processing agreement and stores technical data (such as server log files, described below) required to operate and secure this website.

Every time this website is accessed, the hosting server automatically records information that your browser transmits — this typically includes your IP address, the date and time of access, the page requested, the referring page, browser type and version, and operating system. This happens automatically and is not linked to any other data about you. It is used to ensure the technical operation and security of the website (legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR, legitimate interest) and is deleted automatically after a short period.

This website distinguishes between cookies and local storage that are technically necessary for it to function, and Google Analytics, which only runs if you actively accept it. On your first visit, a banner asks you to accept or decline. Your decision is stored in your browser's local storage (not a cookie itself) so you are not asked again — you can change it at any time via "Cookie Settings" in the footer of every page.

A random, anonymous identifier is also stored in local storage to remember which photos you have already up- or down-voted in the gallery. It contains no personal data, is never sent anywhere beyond this site, and — as a feature the site cannot work without — does not require separate consent.

If you accept, this website uses Google Analytics (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies (e.g. _ga, _ga_*) that enable an analysis of how you use this website — pages visited, time spent, approximate location at country/city level, device and browser type, and how you arrived at the site.

Google Analytics 4 does not store your full IP address. The data may be processed by Google on servers in the United States; Google is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which provides an adequate level of data protection for such transfers. Legal basis is your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR), which you can withdraw at any time with future effect via "Cookie Settings" in the footer. If you contact me — by email or via a contact form on this site — the information you provide (such as your name, email address and message) is stored on my hosting provider's server for the purpose of processing your request and in case of follow-up questions. It is not passed on to third parties. Legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR, depending on whether your request relates to a (pre-)contractual matter. This data is kept only for as long as necessary to handle your request, unless legal retention obligations require otherwise.

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

• request access to the personal data I hold about you (Art. 15 GDPR),
• request correction of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR),
• request erasure of your data (Art. 17 GDPR),
• request restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR),
• receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20 GDPR),
• object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21 GDPR), and
• lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority — e.g. the one responsible for North Rhine-Westphalia, LDI NRW.
